Il breve articolo, scritto in occasione della VI Giornata mondiale della lingua greca, ripercorre le tappe più importanti e note della storia della questione linguistica in relazione alla lingua letteraria nell'Ottocento e nei primi decenni del Novecento; si sofferma in particolare sul caso del saggista e poeta Ghiorgos Seferis cercando di presentare i pilastri fondamentali della "teoria linguistica" del poeta e la posizione assunta rispetto alla lingua greca e alla sua storia.

The short article, written on the occasion of the VI Giornata mondiale della lingua greca, briefly presents the evolution of the Greek language question in relation to the literary language during the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. it focuses on the case of the essayist and poet George Seferis, presenting the main points of his "linguistic theory" and the position he seems to have taken on key issues about the Greek language and its history.
