Read more about CALL FOR PAPERS, PACO 20(3): 2027PARTECIPAZIONE E CONFLITTO (Participation and Conflict) is an international journal based in Italy and specialising in social and political studies.
PaCo publishes research on the transformations of politics and its key actors — political parties, interest groups, social movements, associations, trade unions and related collective actors — with particular attention to the dynamics of participation. It focuses both on conventional forms of individual and collective engagement and on protest-oriented repertoires of action. The journal also devotes specific attention to the transformation of contemporary political systems, examining processes of democratisation as well as the emergence of new forms of governance at local, subnational and supranational levels. These processes are situated within the broader transnationalisation of social, political and economic dynamics, while maintaining due attention to the continuing relevance of the nation-state. The journal welcomes innovative studies marked by strong methodological rigour and grounded in the most recent theoretical and empirical contributions to the social and political sciences.
PaCo is a full open access journal: all content is freely available without charge to readers, and articles are published under a Creative Commons licence with no fees for authors (Diamond Open Access).
The Journal is published in three issues per year (March, July, and November) and all submissions undergo double-blind peer review.
Alongside its regular Special Issues, PaCo welcomes theoretical and empirical articles for the Open Section, as well as Review Essays and Book Reviews.
PaCo is rated CLASS A by the Italian Academic Research Evaluation Agency (Anvur) for area 14 (Sociology and Political Sciences).
PaCo is indexed in Scopus and the Web of Science (ESCI), among other databases.
