Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

The manuscript is prepared in accordance to the relevant template:

- The text, if submitted to a peer-reviewed section (e.g. Research Articles or Research Notes), has had the authors' name removed.
- The manuscript is written in good English. Authors who feel their English needs to be checked are strongly advised to use a language editing service.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has not been used
substantially in the research process (for instance, for conducting the literature review, formulating hypotheses of interpreting data).In case AI has been used for enhancing the clarity and the readability of the text, it is reported in the relevant section of the manuscript.
Research Articles
Research Articles (7000-9000 words), which engage in theory-building or theory-testing.Research Notes
Research Notes (5000 words max), featuring new empirical materials and methodological considerations, without necessarily engaging in theory-building.Review Essays
Review Essays (5000 words max), that survey how a strand of literature is developing and which debates is feeding, also on the basis of recent publications.Book Reviews
Book Reviews (2000 words max), whose main aim is to critically engage with the most recent scientific productions in the fields of Comparative Politics and International Relations.Special section
Special section - “Security and Praxis”, that is particularly inspired by a critical epistemology and collects short articles shedding an eclectic light on topics dealing with the study of security.Copyright Notice
