The article gives a historical overview of cheese production and labelling of Tolminc cheese in the upper Soča valley in the Julian Alps (Slovenia). Three distinct approaches to Tolminc cheese are described: Tolminc cheese with Protected Designation of Origin, Tolminc cheese with a collective trademark, and non-certified and unregistered Tolminc-like cheese.Downloads
