Abstract

On page 244 of his second notebook, Ramanujan recorded several remarkable identities involving his theta function $f(-q)$. Among these, one particularly elegant identity was noted by R. J. Evans to be the last proved in the second notebook. Motivated by these classical results, the present article investigates analogous identities associated with Ramanujan’s other two well-known theta functions $varphi(-q)$ and $psi(q)$.
