Oggigiorno le emozioni sono una delle dimensioni umane più studiate e rivalutate, anche in ambiente scolastico, per lo stretto rapporto che hanno con i processi di apprendimento. Una delle teorie più recenti è quella sulla warm cognition di Daniela Lucangeli. La ricercatrice dimostra che ogni volta che un individuo apprende un concetto, oltre a memorizzare quest'ultimo, fissa in memoria anche l'emozione provata in quel momento e in futuro il suo cervello gli farà rivivere i due ricordi in maniera associata.
