L'educazione all'ascolto nella scuola emerge come una delle urgenze educative di questo tempo, oltre che come un presupposto didattico per lo sviluppo delle abilità, per l'acquisizione delle conoscenze e per la maturazione delle competenze di qualunque disciplina. Se questa necessità accomuna tutti gli ordini di scuola, appare fondamentale nei primi anni di formazione perché promuove nel discente le premesse per un ascolto consapevole e per un uso attivo degli strumenti comunicativi: prerequisiti funzionali a ciascun curricolo scolastico e indispensabili per le competenze sociali e relazionali. In questo ha un ruolo significativo l'educazione musicale.

This need is for all levels in schools, but it's essential in the primary school because it promotes the premises for aware listening and for the active use of communicative instruments: these are prerequisites for each school curriculum, and they are essential for social and civic competence. Music Education has a key role to play regarding this kind of expertise.
