Abstract

The main topics of the article are developed through the following method: the first three paragraphs offered a brief analysis of the concept of ideology and the theory of elites, trying to highlight also the main stages in the historical evolution of these cultural phenomena. The fourth and final paragraph, however, is an attempt to interpret and understand the social, political, and economic life of a reality as particular as that Usa, using the conceptual tools developed in the previous paragraphs
