Within the frame of the research on algal vegetation of the Eastern Sicilian coast, the Authors produce the results of a floristic study on the seaweeds of Maddalena peninsula (Siracusa, Italy).This study, based on personal collections, permitted to identify 211 species, 15 varieties and 3 forms. Rhodochaete parvula is new to Sicily; Chondria scintillans is new to Italy. The study is also completed with some phytogeografical observations.
