The main environmental parameters of the coastal brackish pond Stagno di Acquatina were studied from April 2006 to September 2007. The environmental factors resulted strongly dependent on the cyclical seasonal conditions, the geographic climate of region and some specific interactions. These last are represented by the sea water inputs from marine channels and by the fresh water from the Canale di Giammatteo, mainly. Variation and distribution of nutrients are affected by agricultural fertilizer input in the raining season from the neighbouring lands.
