Osservazioni su alcuni stadi giovanili di cernie dei generi Epinephelus e Mycteroperca (Osteichthyes - Serranidae) catturate lungo la nuova scogliera del porto di Catania

Viene segnalata la presenza di stadi giovanili di quattro specie di EPINEPHELLNAE (Osteichthyes - SERRANIDAE) lungo un nuovo molo del porto di Catania; si tratta di Eninephelus aeneus (E . Geoffroy Saint’Hilaire) (3-11,5 cm), E. alexandrinus (Cuvier et Valenciennes) (6-18,5 cm), E. quaza (L,) (7,5-10 cm) e Mycteroperca rubra (Bloch) (5,3-11,7 cm); di esse vengono riportate osservazioni di carattere principalmente eto-ecologico, condotte in natura e in laboratorio.

The occurrence of young stages of four EPINEPHELINAE (Osteichthyes - XERRLNIDAE) species in a new wharf under construction at Catania harbour is recorded. They are: Epinephelus aeneus (E. Geoffroy Sant’Milaire) (3-11,5 cm), E. alexandrinus (Cuvier et Valenciennes) (6-18,5 cm), E. guaxa (L.) (7,5-10 cm) e Mycteropercn rubra (Bloch) (5,5-11,7 cm). Some etho-ecological observations carried out both in laboratory and in field are reported too.
