Viene segnalato il ritrovamento, nel Miocene della Provincia di Lecce, di un sirenide fossile ascrivibile al genere Metaxytherium DE CRISTOL.

The authors signal the discovery of a fossil vertebrate, belonging to SIRENIA, in the Miocen formation of Lecce. The specimen may be attributed to Metaxytherium DE CRISTOL.
