From a phenomenological perspective, the article highlights the main risks of conversational AI, namely the compromise of human autonomy and emotional manipulation. A "synthetic ethics" is proposed as a response to these challenges. This ethics encourages a reflection on the interaction with synthetic systems, such as robots and other artificial identities, and an ongoing dialogue between philosophers and engineers from the early stages of technology development.Downloads
