Il simbolo e la presenza: a proposito del divino = The symbol and the presence: about the divine

Abstract

After having investigated the phenomenon "symbol" and the question of the "presence" according to Edmund Husserl's analyses, one can find in the paper the discussion about the knowledge of the Divine in connection with his manifestations from archaic age to the historical religions The Divine is present in us and out of us, in a double sense: as manifestation/incarnation and as transcendence, never graspable in himself. The knowledge of the Divine is based on the consciousness of his presence as a trace, real and not symbolic; for this reason, it deals with a presence/absence that one tries to shape through the symbolic function.
