Abstract

The essay retraces the salient stages of the construction of the prophetic activity of Hildegard of Bingen and the characteristics of her visionary knowledge, and through some surveys in the vast correspondence of the abbess highlights the variety of recipients and the different ways of her writings. It is precisely in the epistles that the complexity of the relationship between strength and weakness emerges several times, which Hildegard elaborates from her valorization of femininity in creation.
