The article analyses the works of Simone Weil and Marguerite Duras who have been direct witnesses and narrators of the second world war. These two perspectives offer us the first women reflexions on war and violence starting by their direct perceptions. Simone Weil develops her idea of "force" starting from her direct experience in Spanish civil war. Force "is that x that turns anybody who is subjected to it into a thing".Marguerite Duras gives testimony of her experience of war violence intertwining fiction and reality, wavering between autobiography and invention. Duras tries to represent the unrepresentable by connecting a personal trauma to the collective trauma.Downloads
