Abstract

The article analyses the problem of the safeguard of the Greek-roman archaelo gical site of Soknopaiou Nesos/Dime es-Seba (Fayyum, Egypt), that is more and more threatened by the aggressive desert tourism, property speculation and clandestine excavations.
