Abstract

This contribution derives from the presentation delivered on 27 July 2025 in Tricase during the School of History of Popular Traditions organized by Liquilab. It explores the evolving role of museums following the ICOM 2022 definition. Modern museums are no longer seen as neutral containers of objects, but as dynamic, "changing places" tasked with interpreting contemporary society.
