Abstract

The paper focuses on the concept of man in the thought of Pietro Galatino in the light of two unpublished works contained in the manuscript Vat. lat. 5577. The works place the thinker within the lively debates that raged in the Renaissance. The concepts of soul and microcosm are the cornerstones around which the idea of the centrality of man in the cosmos is illustrated. A careful analysis of the works allows us to obtain a new, broader and more complex vision of Galatino's philosophy.
