Abstract

This is an expository article related to a talk, which I gave at the International Conference in honour of Prof. Kowalski on Recent Advances in Differential Geometry in Lecce/Italy, June 2007. The article describes the construction of Fefferman-Einstein metrics, which will be presented in an explicit form. Our construction is motivated by tractor calculus and the notion of conformal holonomy. We will sketch the background of this motivation as well.
