Recent Results on Generalized Baumslag-Solitar Groups

Abstract

Generalized Baumslag-Solitar groups are the fundamental groups of finite graphs of groups with infinite cyclic vertex and edge groups. These groups have interesting group theoretic and algorithmic properties and they also have close connections with algebraic topology. Here we present an introduction to the theory with an account of recent results.
