If $G$ is the soluble product of its subgroups $A$ and $B$, then a natural question is how the structure of $G$ is influenced by the structure of $A$ and $B$. In particular, can the derived length be bounded in terms of invariants of $A$ and $B$. There are many results in this direction, but very little is known about best possible bounds. We survey some of these results.Downloads
