«Dotto di molte scienze e di molte arti», Bacile incide profondamente sul tessuto del territorio sommando nella sua persona i saperi dello studioso (umanistici e non), le competenze artistiche, l'attitudine alle innovazioni nelle pratiche agricole, l'attenzione alle infrastrutture. Bacile appartiene alla schiera dei molti notabili vissuti in ombra, il cui studio può però contribuire a rivedere giudizi più generali, ripetitivi, per comprendere meglio il ruolo dell'influenza del «notabilato» fino alle ragioni del suo declino.

«Dotto di molte scienze e di molte arti» (A learned man in many sciences and arts), Bacile leaves a deep mark in the fabric of the territory, by gathering in himself scholar learnings (both liberal and scientific ones), artistic competences, a skill for innovations in agricultural practices, a care for infrastructures. Bacile belongs to the ranks of the many notabilities who used to live in the shadow, men whose life should be studied, as that may contribute to revise stale opinions and prejudices, in order to better understand the role played by notables' influence and the reason of its decline.
