Questo articolo affronta il rapporto fra medicina, diritto e politica durante la prima età moderna sotto i seguenti profili: la «disputa delle arti» non solo nel suo stato nascente ma negli sviluppi fino al XVIII secolo; l'uso e lo sviluppo di metafore mediche nel linguaggio politico ed economico del Seicento; la trattatistica intorno al «medicus-politicus»; il ruolo del medico nelle istituzioni, come informatore politico, come ribelle.

The relationship between medicine, law and politics in the Early Modern History is analyzed in this article about some topics: the «disputa delle arti» from XV to XVIII century; the use and the development of medical metaphors in the political and economic language during XVII cent.; the treaties about «medicus-politicus» (Andrea Canoniero); the role of the doctor in the institutions and public administration, as political informer, as rebel.
