Federico II «mediatore della classicità» tra tardo antico e rinascimento pugliese

The contribution aims to go back to the sources of that classicism (perennial and historical) which in Puglia, and in Terra d'Otranto in particular, will lead, between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, to the affirmation of artistic facts characterized by an eclecticism of forms, types, cultures, whose remote roots can be identified in Federician cultural policy itself. Finally, the analysis, through the evocative force of memory, suggests undertaking a review of the context of creativity and innovation present in the artistic manifestations of the Salento Renaissance.

Il contributo mira a risalire alle sorgenti di quel classicismo (perenne e storico) che in Puglia, ed in Terra d'Otranto in particolare, porterà, tra il Quattro e il Cinquecento, all'affermazione di fatti artistici caratterizzati da un eclettismo di forme, tipi, culture, le cui radici remote possono essere individuate nella stessa politica culturale federiciana. L'analisi, infine, attraverso la forza evocativa della memoria, suggerisce d'intraprendere una revisione del contesto di creatività e d'innovazione presente nelle manifestazioni artistiche del Rinascimento salentino.
