The contribution provides some considerations regarding the aspects of "salentina" artistic culture between the second half of sec. XV and the first years of sec. XVI. The art production is characterized by the introduction of a new language with Venetian and, generally, Adriatic origin, and grafted on the Neo-byzantine current, where contaminations between western and eastern models stand out.

Il contributo propone alcune riflessioni sugli aspetti della cultura artistica salentina tra la seconda metà del sec. XV e i primi anni del sec. XVI, caratterizzata dall'immissione (soprattutto in pittura) di un linguaggio nuovo di matrice veneta e, in generale, adriatica, che s'innesta su un filone neobizantino, in cui emergono contaminazioni tra modelli occidentali e orientali.
