This article offers a profile of Mario Marti (1914-2015), the former editor of «Giornale Storico della Letteratura Italiana», reconstructing his formative years (with Raffaele Spongano, Luigi Russo e Alfredo Schiaffini), outlining his research methods and illustrating the major contributions he made to various fields of Italian studies.

L'articolo traccia un profilo di Mario Marti (1914-2015), già direttore del «Giornale Storico della Letteratura Italiana»; ne ricostruisce la formazione (con Raffaele Spongano, Luigi Russo, Alfredo Schiaffini), ne delinea il metodo di studio e illustra i principali contributi da lui offerti a molti settori dell'Italianistica.
