The author focused his research on the technical-scientific background of the Galateo and his knowledge of the texts of Hippocrates, Galeno, Celso, Avicenna, Mesué and others. He investigated his professional activity before and after graduating in Ferrara in 1474, in Naples and Salento. He sought to identify possible masters and influences in the field of theoretical and practical medicine. By getting the data from his production, especially from the only medical work, the De podagra.

L'Autore ha incentrato la sua ricerca sulla formazione tecnico-scientifica del Galateo e sulla sua conoscenza dei testi di Ippocrate, Galeno, Celso, Avicenna, Mesuè ed altri. Ha indagato sulla sua attività professionale, prima e dopo la laurea a Ferrara nel 1474, a Napoli e nel Salento. Ha cercato di individuare i possibili maestri e le influenze nel campo della medicina teoretica e in quello della medicina pratica. Ricavando i dati dalla sua produzione, specialmente dall'unica opera medica, il De podagra.
