Archivi scolastici: memoria sommersa della scuola?

The school archives have been left as a hidden memory until very recent times, in Italy. In fact, only recently this kind of documents has attracted scholars' specific researches and the attention of archival administration. This contribution synthetically describes how an interest in these archives has increasingly grown and it points out the different strategies for their management and custody, focusing on the Salentine experience. The aim of this article is to underline the importance of the contents of the schools archives also for historical demography studies, and to give conservation and cataloging to this archival material.Downloads
