Abstract

Over the past decades the protection of the right to religious freedom has been recognized at universal and at regional level. Nowadays, in the international scenario there are several legally binding instruments dealing with freedom of religion as well as different mechanisms aimed at monitoring and protecting this fundamental human right. This paper will thus examine all the relevant international and regional legal instruments in the field of religious freedom.
