Abstract

The author draws a literary-biographical portrait of Antonio Delfini, remarkable and overall neglected writer of twentieth-century Italian review. He emphasizes: the hybrid political ideology of Delfini, after initial adhesion to Fascism, reconciling dynastic landlordism and industrial communism; poems and prose that boldly and originally grafted surrealism European issues in the Italian tradition; the masterpiece Il ricordo della Basca, inspired by a visionary romantic love and by a digressive and entropic narrative technique, breaking the objective and organic representation of reality.
