This paper highlights the everyday reality of women’s work, “invisible forces” in the Great War. The archival papers and the contemporary periodicals only indirectly indicate the details of the extremely difficult conditions of life of young women and their families who spent their energies in the fields and factories, without any protection at work, the protagonists of a deep transformation, inherently cultural, of the Italian society.Downloads
